AC Milan are lining up a multi-million pound double swoop for Didier Drogba and Steven Gerrard, according to Tuttosport.
The Rossoneri are set for a summer revolution following a hugely disappointing season.

A number of veterans at the club will be shipped out, including the likes of Giuseppe Favalli, Serginho and Cafu.

Under-performing players such as Alberto Gilardino and Yoann Gourcuff will also be sold in order to make way for some new star names.

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could replace Carlo Ancelotti as coach, and his first moves on the transfer market will be to try to sign Didier Drogba and Steven Gerrard.

Drogba seems certain to quit Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, as he wants a new challenge, and he has stated in the past that he will either end up in Milan or Barcelona.

The signing of Gerrard meanwhile is more unlikely, although the Liverpool captain may be tempted to move if he is unconvinced about his current club’s chances to win the Premiership next season.

Other players to be linked with Milan in the press this morning, include Stuttgart star Mario Gomez, and CSKA Moscow’s Brazilian striker Jo.

Fit-again Chelsea forward Andriy Shevchenko said his goal against Spurs last term was perhaps his "most beautiful", and he hopes to have another chance against the Blues' city rivals on Wednesday...

Andriy Shevchenko hopes to make a scoring return for Chelsea against Tottenham on Wednesday evening.

Indeed, the injury-plagued Ukrainian hitman found the target at White Hart Lane last season when his Blues pipped Spurs 2-1 in an FA Cup quarter-final replay.

Sheva’s comments come after AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti cast doubt over his reported plans to resign the striker.

Now, Shevchenko hopes to take out his frustrations by helping to gun down mid-table Tottenham in the midweek Premiership fixture.

“It was a fantastic goal and a great game for us, to get into the semi-final of the Cup,” the 31-year-old told the Blues’ official website.

“Chelsea played fantastic football and created more chances, it was a very important game.’

On the importance of that goal, he said: “No, maybe not the most important, but maybe the most beautiful.

On starting, he added: “That's for the manager, after my injury I am improving and feel much better now, so I'm ready to help the team on Wednesday.”

The latest reports out of Italy suggest that Milan and Chelsea are busily hammering out a deal that will see Andriy Shevchenko return to the San Siro on loan at the end of the season.

The Ukrainian bomber has barely managed a sputter since his high profile move to Chelsea in 2006, and the latest suggestion is that the Blues have reached a point where they will settle with just having him off their payroll despite having splashed out a record fee for him less than two years ago.

The fact that he doesn't play a prominent part in Avram Grant's plans has been obvious from the start, and that was underlined recently when as his teammates prepared for the win over Olympiacos in the Champions League, Shevchenko was playing against Reading reserves at Brentford's Griffin Park.

Milan's fans would welcome the prodigal son with open arms, even though a recent poll suggests that not many of them regard him as an adequate solution to their striker crisis, which was exasperated by the potentially career threatening injury to Ronaldo last month.

Shevchenko, who has a rather unspectacular record of 20 goals in 68 appearances for Chelsea, is now considered fourth in line in the striker's pecking order at Stamford Bridge behind Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou.

Late goals from Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor sent Arsenal FC through to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League at the expense of holders AC Milan.
Fabregas decisive With extra time looming, an enthralling game was effectively decided with six minutes to go when Fabregas, who had earlier hit the bar, received the ball on the halfway line, ran 15 metres and unleashed a low shot into the bottom corner of Zeljko Kalac's goal. Adebayor completed a memorable victory as substitute Theo Walcott raced down the right to square for the Togo international to score his first goal of this continental campaign.

Carlo Ancelotti's men were in charge for most of the first half, with Kaká a livewire presence the visiting defence simply could not contain. The Brazilian playmaker twice raced through before flashing an effort wide of goal. But as the rain which had started just before kick-off abated, so the north Londoners appeared to have weathered the storm. Suddenly their trademark first-time passing was back and Kaladze was struggling to cope with the powerful runs of Adebayor, who supplied Fabregas to rattle the crossbar with a 34th-minute strike.
